I set my computer to turn off my monitor after an amount of time, then turn off hard disks, then to standby, then to hibernate, but it only somehow manages to turn off my monitor, which I can do myself! The only time it hibernates by itself is when I manually put it on standby, then after awhile it hibernates. Anyone know how to remedy this?

I do not have the original disc but have read that it is possible to bring system back from the black screen by using a boot disc. The way I understood the article I would be completley reformatting the hard drive. I am trying to save the music and pictures on the hard drive. The computer will not boot, can not get into safe mode for diagnostics

My question is floating around recently launched 'Google Phone' which is using Android (An open source software platform & OS from Google). Android is a smart sign that Google is busy in developing its OS (definitely, open sourced) for PCs. I hope... due to large no. of Google lovers, it will take no time in beating the Mac & Windows OS will be targeted mainly. I can't believe that Microsoft can't feel such type of risks.
