All internal combustion engines have corresponding marks on the crankshaft pulley and timing cover or on the transmission housing case and flywheel to mark timing. You need to find a way to disable the computer to put the engine in base timing mode, then take a timing light with the inductive pick-up around the #1 spark plug and align the two marks. Loosen the distributor adjustment bolt and rotate the distributor until the marks line up.
