WoW! Good question for a 13 yr. old. I agree with Broken. Get a Driver Manual from your DMV and read it. You may be able to do this online. You can in my state. Here is a Google listing when I searched for 'Safe Driving'. A the bottom of the page is other search perameters you can click on. The safe driving game lists sites where you can play them and learn. http://www.google.com/search?q=Safe+Driving&sourceid=ie7&rls=com.microsoft:en-US&ie=utf8&oe=utf8If the Public Schools offer Drivers Ed. classes, take it when you qualify. It will make a huge difference in your survival rate and help with a reduction in insurance rates for your or your parents. If your Public School doesn't offer the course, then talk to your parent about you attending a private Driver Training school. The sooner you talk to them the better. This will allow them time to plan for the expense. I recently read an article about some public schools(some of the few that still offer drivers ed.) and some private driver training schools are purchasing driving similators to train drivers. This eliminates the expenses of buying cars, insurance (which is very expensive for driver training) and maintence. Similators are very effective in Driver Training. Police Depts., Law Enforcement Training schools for all levels of agencies, the Military, even truck driving training, are using these. The similators allow the instructors to introduce situation that you will commonly see and even situations you may never see or experience. Once the similator training is completed you then go out and drive the real thing.
Pray. I've heard about New York drivers. But seriously, study any books you can get from the DMV.
Live life to the fullest the next 2 years.....;-)
wow do you get much practice actually driving?
16 years old to drive but you must have a licensed driver with you for 6 months I believe. They keep changing the laws and every state is different! Slow down and enjoy your youth! Driving is very serious and you need a lot of experience on the roads today!
relax i'm 13 and i'm so not stressing just enjoy another year and than think about what to do. a good to get prepared is take kids version of a test
age 3-5 years...if you drive like a taxi driver, you'll be fine
Don't worry too much, you have 2 years. I have never been to New York, but I have heard the roads are absolute insanity there. On the other hand, maybe you do need 2 years to learn driving since you will be in New York:)
cowboy I grew up upstate and you can't compare it to NYC what so ever. It is nice, cold but slower pace than what you maybe thinking!
I meant NYC. Hi, Lisa.
Always a pleasure Cowboy!
See if you can get someone to take you outside of the city and get some practice. My grandma let me start driving in the country when I was 11, experience is the best. If not then study the road signs and rules of the road book. Also pay alot of attention when you are the passenger. I'm sure you will do fine when the time comes.
don't you have to be 16 years old to take the test?
learn how to back into a space and parallel park
