It might be best for your friend to check at a Toyota Dealer they will explain it for Free
Thanks memaw. I agree. She said that she had called the service department and the person she spoke with didn't know about this feature. I told her to take the car to the dealer and show the feature to a salesperson or the shop manager, and ask them to explain proper usage. In the meantime, I'm trying to find out how it is supposed to be used.
http://www.haynes.com/maybe this will do the trick, online, and for everything, free...this is a repair site, so...but save the link for later anyway
the overdrive button may be located on the end of the gear handle...
Thank you "free". Appreciate the help.
Try Ebay or Yahoo auctions there are owner's manuals all over the place. Do not confuse "owners manual" with repair manual. You could also check out this link, gives all types of discussions on this vehicle.http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/ViewModelDetail/make=Toyota/model=Highlander/?mktcat=toyota-highlander-care&kw=toyota+highlander+owners+manual&mktid=ga21195584
Thank you m60a3. Appreciate the help.
You are welcome
overdrive is standerd feature on automatic transmission you sholud have it on all the time while normal driving (meaning your not towing anything with your car) most toyotas are 4 speed automatic transmissions the over drive is the 4th gear when its on it lets the car swich into the high gear to optimize fuel consuption(save gas) and reduce your engines rpm anyways to make a long story normal driving leave it on. twoing turn it of.
Thanks judo. Appreciate the help.
