abs buddy..

I prefer standard brakes, you can't even have a decent skid in inclement weather nowadays with ABS, give me a good old skid with all four wheels locked up and wondering where you will end up anyday.

ABS hands down.

I love this question. ABS is the coolest thing ever invented since dry ice. Pure genius. Best thing ever put on a car. I have 350,000+ professional miles driving time..I cannot say enough about them. First time I ever used them it was a brand new Chevy Caprice (the funny bathtub looking one) taxi...I took into an alley that was solid ice....came to a dead flat stop with not a millimeter of skid. Just fabulous. I don't remember the exact 0 to 60 stop figures in feet and time, but I think it's like 80% faster and 60% shorter or something like that...BEST THING EVER PUT ON A CAR!!!....did I tell you I like them?..lol

Anti lock brakes have been awful useful round here in the ice and stuff, but darn they freak me out sometimes.

gta- we have abs on our school buses and the purpose is to not lock up in case of a slide, so i don't know if thats what you mean by transfer extra braking to each wheel or not..but in a bus you can still slide but it is more controllable with abs v.s. manuaual brakes and seems to be very effective..on my personal vehicle i prefer standerd as i have a stick shift and four wheel drive. but i the end it's not about the brake system..it's about the driver experience!
