What would you say if I told you that the latest Pontiac GTO was built in Australia?

STVRZ:

Funny avatar!

Timkat2:

My last two Fords were built in Canada.

Waggi:

Yeah, but Canada and the USA are pretty much the same country anyway

STVRZ:

Not exactly, the US is more conservative politically, and more populated. Spirituality also is more a part of the culture as well.

Jack:

BUILT and DESIGNED are two entirely different things.

Jack:

So? I had read that somewhere when it was first introduced. Big hairy deal!

I still hold the fact against Pontiac that they STOLE the name "GTO" from a true automotive legend and engineering art form ... Ferrari!

Waggi:

Thankyou! No real automotive wonders ever came out of America. Look instead to Europe for things of beauty and Japan for engineering know-how.

Billarysdone:

Well skwirrl if it wasn't for Henry Ford who knows what would have happened. How about the model T? Ever heard of Duisenberg? I think Scott D will tell you his corvette is quite a runner. Vipers? Cobras? Sure the European cars are great (I have five Euros), but don't discount the American cars. Japan for engineering know how! LMAO; They pioneered copying and have never delivered anything original.

Jack:

Duesy, Auburn, Cord, Tucker, and countless other milestone cars ALL came out of America. It may have been due in part to our developing the market.

With the exception of Hispano-Suiza most "European" cars have come solely from Italy and Germany. And what about the UK, are they chopped liver?

Johnbee is correct, Japan could do little besides copy other designs until about 40 years ago. They are fast learners though (Honda F1).

To underscore your idiocy, please name ONE marque that was the least bit revolutionary that ORIGINATED in Australia. We anticipate a long wait. ;-)

Royboy:

Au so
