Trouble starting my 99 f150 5.4
Hello - It's a 99 f150 5.4 w/ 109000 miles on it. Went to start this morningand it fires then dies right away. If I give it gas it will stayrunning but as soon as I let off it dies. By the way it is -15 degreesF with a windchill of around 30 below. Could this be the reason? I'venever had trouble with it in cold weather before. Thanks for anyfeedback.

sometime an old idle air control valve will cease working in cold weather.

yes it could be why just like you not wanting to go out in that weather, also gas lines battery cells, water anti freeze needs power from someplace.

In really cold weather I've seen people use a warming blanket for the engine , to warm up the liquids.
