A warrenty covers defective parts. At the used age of the car, any defective parts would already have been found. A warrenty isn't going to be of any help by that age. That's one reason cars depreciate so fast. You can buy used soooooo much cheaper to cover the wear repairs that wouldn't be covered by any warrenty anyway.

Dealers LOVE to sell extended warranties, trick is getting them to honor them through the tricky winding wording of the contract.
