guess that explains the work being done at the stations!!!! it was over 4$ here but as of yesterday it was back down to 399.... guess time will tell...
Hi Mom, not sure where you are located? Yes, apparently many stations have old pumps which only go as high as the 3.99 and they have to install either new pumps and/or new meters!
central coast of california CL.... expecting gas to go up again soon as Memorial day approaches....
Love your new look this morning, Mom!
Wow, now they will have to spend some of those profits they are gouging from the public to be able to gouge some more! Very sad. I dont think they understand how bad they are hurting some people. My son is a Senior in high school, he works and earns about 100.00 a week, it is costing him 60.00 of that for gas to go to school (no bus available) and work. What is this country headed for?
Hi Lovada! That is quite a testimony. He has more fortitude than many teens if he spends 60% of every paycheck for transportation to get to school and back, and to work! Congratulations on raising a great son! Our country needs to find ways to do better for its good citizens.
I just filled up this morning and the meter had no problem going to $4.55 your must be very lucky. Goodmorning CL
Hi BMC. Well, my $4.08 was a few days ago; I'll take a look and see what it is today when I go out, Where are you located at $4.55 per gallon?!?
Hi again CL, I live in Oakland Ca. the price was for diesel. We really need to drill for our own oil don't you think. It seems everyone wants to blame the oil companies for the high cost and that they are making to much money (5 to 7% per gallon) but that is not the problem we only produce about 30% of the oil we use the rest is imported, We also import 15% of our gasoline we can't even refine the oil we produce, we simply are not in control of the cost we are held hostage by the suppliers. We have immense oil reserves in our country and we should exploit them. OPEC says that they are considering a price of $200.00 a barrel that will nearly double the price we pay for fuel now. It's frustrating to me. Nice to see you CL
Hey, BMC, thanks for the good information! I was just reading how China is becoming a big oil consumer as so many millions are now coming into the cities, also they are becoming industrialized and manufacturing products for us and everyone else. They will compete with all of us for oil and drive the prices even higher. Yes, we need to provide our own and also we need to explore alternate energy sources, do you think?
CL, I love this subject if your interested I will post some links pertaining to some interesting energy alternatives.India and China are growing fast and no one should expect a good or special deal on oil, it will and should go to the highest bidder. We need our own energy. Thanks
Our gas actually went down .10 a gallon yesterday. I know a lot of the stations have closed for remodeling which consist of new pumps.
Hi Nana, thanks for your answer!
That sounds similar to the time gas went above 99 cents and the pumps and the signs did not have the ability to go to a dollar. I hope it stops soon. In northeast Wisconsin we are at $3.599 as of last night.
Thanks RichLisa, for reporting in. Amazing, our short-sightedness, isn't it? Imagine, the wishful thinking that gas would never go above $.99 a gallon . . . . those surely must have been the "good old days" we are always hearing about :-)
This is just plum rediculous. So much for the economic stimulus checks. Looks like it is going to go for gas and groceries...
You are absolutely right, Indiana Girl!
