I worry that we have not learned from what happened this past summer, plus hybrids are more expensive and have been harder to get. I still believe that what we really need to do is make public transportation more accessible to everyone. As for electric cars (the ones that you plug in and can go for about 40 miles on a charge), they may help wean us off foreign oil (YAY!), but what will the increased demand for electricity do for the environment, and we have not yet developed enough clean electric technology to satisfy our current needs.
very good points- also it seems that many people haven't gone back to their cars after getting use to using public transit when the gas was MUCH higher-but-stay tuned-gas prices have declined and Americans LOVE their cars-and yes-technology for electric is underdeveloped now.
i would be happy to buy one when they are just a bit cheaper
Hybrids are stacking up on the lots of dealers and import-ports along with othe models. The sheen was off them prior to the price-drop, in part to their higher ticket price and the fact that people just aren't buying ANY vehicle new.
Agreed-people are keeping what they have-thanks for your input
I am not planning on buying a new vehicle in the near future at all.
same here patpat-my 98 lumina-67,000 miles is fine with me for now
given the choice I think the majority of people prefer large cars.
I would prefer a large car also-sort of in between now
