Dear Reverend Red Mage,I have no clue, sorry. But, I did want to say hello and tell you that I enjoyed my interactions with you. I wish you well.
Pray! Sorry, I couldn't help myself. Disk pads are notorious for squealing. There are some rather inexpensive antisqueal devices you can get from Autozone or other autoparts store. Ask your mechanic to install them, preferably for free, since it would have been good of him to to that in the first place. Good luck, and the may the God in Whom you don't believe bless you.
Actually, the brake replacement was a DIY exercise. I'll look into the antisqueal devices, though, thanks!
Rotors may need to be ground............Brakes have "squealers" to indicate wear...............Have them checked again to be sure the new pads were replaced or if they were installed properly.........This is a life and death matter...........
If you used the lifetime warranty pads they are designed to cut through your rotors so if you rotors were not new or if they weren't exactly adjusted they will screech as they are eating through your rotor or if you did not go to a reputable mechanic one common trick is to bend the brake clip so it will eat through your rotor. Brake pad, about $16 a set, brake rotors about $50 each, cost of not doing them yourself, enormous! You could also have a bad brake caliper which means the pad or shoe is not releasing and hangs every time you apply your brake. If one goes the other is ready to follow. Of the top of my head, they cost about $25 a piece, again, they will eat your rotor in a heartbeat and there is the real cost of your brake job. Brakes are easy, highly important and but can be very expensive as they are also the most easy way to snow a non-mechanic. They are however the most simple system there is even on the most complex vehicle.
cheap pads?
