One that I where I can learn, help others learn (which helps me learn MORE) work with computers, and have a variety of challenges through out the day (Which is another source to learn from). I've got that kind of job now and recognize how lucky I am.

I work in the IT (information Technology) department at a small manufacturing company. I support the computers and related technology used in Shipping, payroll, machine programming, CAD, E-mail, as well as the dedicated machines that control a laser cutting device and CNC machines. I train operators in use of the different software, I also handle some of the industrial electronic design and repair.

Any job where I can help animals. Wild, domestic, etc. You name it! I love animals, and I wish there was more I could do to help the abandoned, abused, and the endangered.

Check with the humane society, I have a friend who volunteered time when she was going to college at the local shelters. She changed her major from journalism to business management, and now earns her living managing 3 shelters.

The money is not great but she says the satisfaction is well worth it.

I did volunteer work for an animal shelter for about 2 years but it became difficult to juggle with my job. Sadly : ( , I had to give it up but I still sponsor the little friends I made there and make monetary/food donations to the shelter and several others. I agree with your friend about it being satisfying and the money really doesn't matter! : )

I am mostly retired from my real estate career, I still do some contracts here and there...that was my choice of a perfect career; I got to help people, I was compensated well, it was all round win-win!!!!
