Yes and 0.... It was a hell to study under so many dull minded, slow witted professors.....
College diploma and it makes no difference to me, I learned more from life than college, but it means an awful within the system, employment etc
Some of the best academics have very little 'life experience,' don't you find?I agree thought that some level of tertairy education often gives people a bit more of an edge in today's workforce.
I am attending at the present time and I don't focus on the fact of having a degree, I place the importance on the grades that I make. I am nearly 50 and will graduate with honors in May if I can pass this science class..
Good for you!!! I admire your endeavor!
life experiences are better learned.. well.. by living.. college is a "nice to have" of course if you're living in a developed country.. in my country it's necessary to have a college degree if you want a decent enough job.. even fast food joints require employees to have at least 60 units in college.. and to answer your question.. yes i went to college and earned a degree in media comms but not a media practitioner by profession.. why? because i can make more money doing corporate training.. a gig i landed because of my degree.. irony.. :)
No And it depends. My husband doesn't either and makes over 160k a year
I also know lots of people who do not have degrees and done quite well in life! Good for your husband! True 'street-smarts' and determination should be equally valued!
You are right on the street smarts, I have witnessed many educated people not be able to make it just because they don't have any
went to college, Uof Wash. bachelors, stanford mba, mention mba from stanford and I can have any job I want.
A high achiever huh Ordbeblue? Well done! I've got the degree as well, although not to your extent, but still managed a highly successful career.
good job globally
Ehh, was going to university for me B.S. Astrophysics, and b.s. is all it was. Most of the Ph.D's where I was at are such self-absorbed airheads that they could careless about the students and actually teaching because that's what the TA's are there for. I think higher education is mostly too expensive and overrated, I know quite a few people who are successful in life and never set foot on a college campus. Mum and Dad want to see me get one, though (b/c they never had the opportunity), so I figure I'm going to do something useful and go to nursing school. :)
