I have a question for anyone living around the Florida coast: is there work to be had there?
i was thinking about relocating there, and i have look on various job-seeking sites, but they only give you part of the picture.

Thank you, it is the best metophorical reflection of my inner self that i could find, i got the idea from a very long book. The gunslinger, uses his witt and charm to promote peace and his gun to protect the innocent, and his life is given over to man.

No. I think unemployment is higher here (10%) than most other states. This is the first state to had been hit by the housing bubble, collapse, etc, etc.

i think its about 14% locally where i live, but basically from what i have seen rental is only slightly higher in florida, as long as your not looking in a tourist trap.

Yeah well, don't expect that to stick. WHen I came here 3 years ago, a regular 1 bedroom apartment was around $1,000/month. I don't mean a super nice one, just your average, everyday apartment. Now it has gone down to closer to $600. But those prices won't stay. Go to Detroit. I hear the cost of living there is close to zero now. :)

I'm not from Florida, but I heard on the news the other day that Florida has the highest unemployment in the nation. Then again it probably depends on the kind of work you're looking for and what your skills are. In any case, Good Luck.
