I like the idea of marketing research.... but is there something else that's like it?
I like to quantify human decisions, and identify patterns from large amounts of data. What kind of jobs would fit this description?

Market research is a wide field in its own right so you can look at different avenues of it.
Other sort of related fields would include areas like census analysts, econometrics, etc.
If you want to know more....either contact the professional Market Research association that will exist in whatever country you live in, or even go and talk to someone at your local college/ university that teaches market research to explore this field more.

Maybe you should be an Actuary. They love #'s and they love to analyze and figure out how the company can make a profit. like with Life Insurance. Try to research that. You have to be super smart and the pay is really really good.
