Has anyone here driven across the USA by car? What are some fun, obscure places to see?

Tyler:

Hi Cleopatra, welcome to QnA...I never have done that, but it is a dream of mine...I would love to know of some fun places to visit as well!!

Dvenz:

Hi Ma!

Tyler:

Hey Son!

Skidmarks:

I have, travelled by car through all 49 states and then flew to Hawaii. Rented a car there and drove all over the islands.

Mainland USA-Check out Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Great natural beauty of the Earth. Of course Hawaii, but getting there is somewhat expensive, but worth every pennies in my opinion.

Rocky Mountain and Grand Canyons-North Rim and South Rim, awesome sight of the grand canyons.

Yellow Stone National Park, Mount Rushmore, Disney World and Disneyland. Universal Studio, Hollywood. New York City (daytime only). Anchorage, AL-Boat tours at the moutain tops-seeing glaciers moved and cracked off crashing down into the ice cold water-pure blue in color. Awesome sight and sounds. Far better than what you might have seen on National Geopgrahic.

Niagra Falls, US and Canada side. Daytona Beach. Wow, I can go on and on, but these places were most memorable for me.

If you wish to go, find one or two more people to go with. It will be ALOT more fun I promise, especially someone who enjoys traveling. I went alone, but still had a BLAST!!!

Doing something out of the ordinary should be done at least once in a life time. Sad to know that some people have not even left their home state. Even if it is within there state, it will be well worth it. :)

Booboo:

sounds like an amazing trip! I agree, people should travel more (internationally too).

Skidmarks:

I have travelled internationally also. WOW what an experience. You will not only hear and see as from other people and on TV and shows, but wow, when you re actually there...now..there is nothig like the real thing just one of coca cola slogan some years back. I have been to the EAST and to the WEST. Now I want to go completely around in full circle. :D

Dvenz:

At the base of Pikes Peak in CO.
The Manitou Cliff Dwellings is a rare historical treasure. Preserved under a protective red sandstone overhang, authentic Anasazi cliff dwellings, built more than 700 years ago, await you here. There are no "Do Not Touch" signs. You are free to touch and even go inside these fascinating architectural remnants of an American Indian culture that roamed the Four Corners area of the Southwest from 1200 B.C. to A.D. 1300.

It's an amazing place. You can still see original paintings on some walls!
