Can I switch tire size (225/60/r16) to (215/60r16) without changing my wheels?

Yes and it will only change the speedometer calibration slightly.

The rim size is the same.

By changing from a tire size 225 60R 16 to a 215 60R 16, your speedometer reading will be 1.8% too fast. When your speedometer reads 60 mph, you will actually be going 58.9 mph.

they basically have the same load, so I am almost positive you can. You need to check your owners manual and check with a tire shop.
