Unless she was with you in the car, or was following you, and had a pace on you, then her testimony is generally useless in this situation. Speeding isn't really character-based when it comes to one offense.
Yes fighting a ticket can reduce you chances of having it on your record. The officer has to show up. prove you were clocked, provide calibration evidence to the method. Also your fine may be reduced if you are found guilty in the end. I haven't got any tickets in years I fought all that I did and won a few.
The fine is $199 if I don't go to court, isn't that UNREAL??? Thanks for answering
Here are some things to consider. Your neighbor will be of no use, forget that one. Defective speedometer, this changes the charge to a defective equipment citation and not a moving violation. You will need a mechanics statement for that one. It is your right to go to trial with this but I must caution the court costs will pile up quickly and if it was on radar you may as well forget it. Not only is it the cops word against yours but also the radar against you.
Thanks

I have never gotten a speeding ticket *knocks on head*, I have a lead foot too. I did fight a ticket once, it wasn't my car, and I got pulled over for a headlight out. The officer must have been having a real bad day, he ticketed me 50.00. The light was fixed the next day. I went to court and won!
That's why I feel I need to go to court, without court the cost is $199. I can't afford that.
Oh, & Thanks for answering!
what you will more than likely encounter is the pre-disposition of the court and judge, that the officer is a trained, knowwledgeble, and skilled observer of the traffic and the laws pertaining to said traffic . the court will side with the officer from the start. what it means to you is basically you are guilty unless you can prove otherwise. to state you or your neighbor don't think you were speeding may cause the judge to smile, but i'm afraid it won't win your case. i wish you luck!
I could make him smile all the more because there was a yard sale going on that day and I sloed to gauck too. Thanks for answering.
Depending on your state, I would appeal it if I could to get a hearing. If you've got a clean record, they may well give you a free at bat. Or perhaps dismiss with some court costs. That way it goes away, and you don't get nabbed for a surcharge on your insurance.
Boy I hope so. The insurance companies here let you have 1 ticket I'm told, so I don't have to woory about that, it's the fine I REALLY can't afford and I think it is outragishly high! Thanks for answering!
Hi,It's not going to cost you any more to give it a try.
