what the heck is the purpose of being able to turn on/off the passenger side airbag?
who's sick idea was this? you can turn it off if you don't like who is in the passenger seat?

my neice has to turn off hers, even on the driver side.. she is a little person and a doctor... she would die if it expoded on her.

Good answer! It's in case a small person is there, then the airbag would kill them.

I use this feature to let my passenger no if I like them or not, just before I start the car, I look them in the eye, and then turn it off if I don't care for them much. they tell me I'm creepy.

dude, do you have any idea how much of the value of a car is based on airbags? if you don't need it, don't use it. the airbags deflating alone can result in 'totaling' the car... you see that feature on most trucks & 4WD vehicles that are meant for off-roading... unlike my Jetta that'll blow up like bubble gum from every angle & POP! it's all over for her...

what if you are driving alone, and some how u had a small accident that launched the airbags unnecessary, that way u'l waste the one on your side...

My husband has a Chevy truck with that feature, bench seat. I'm glad he can turn it off. If my kid were in an accident, he'd be decapitated by the air bag.
