You can go to court and plead your case. Many times when Cops write a ticket. They are banking on the fact that most people just pay the fine, and never bother to go to court. Also, you could check with your county attorneys office. They would have the statute on the books, and they could provide you with the information. Most states only enforce the law as it pertains to the front windows.
I wasn't ticketed, he let me go.Thank you for the answer though.
I do not know the % but I know when you stand out side you have to be able to see how many people are in the car and be able to tell there sex if they are For M or children if you can't it to dark
Thanks
Help me understand. The Officer let you go, and you wish to make noise about it?If you were being profiled etc, then I would stand right with you, but a free ride is a free ride!In MA, officers are trained and certified and equipped with tint meters. They may stop you with probable cause to examine the tinting of windows.
That can be found on each state site for highway laws.
Every state is different and a police officer cannot know for certain. This is one of those things where you have to prove innocence. He writes a ticket because by his judgment your window tint is too dark, you look up the laws in your state and do your best to show that you are within the laws and the judge tosses it out or send you to have them actually tested. The ticket itself is like issuing a radar ticket without radar. Doesn't mean the officer is wrong because if that's what you do for a living you kind of know these things but it doesn't mean he's right either. It's our job to know what is and isn't legal tint in the states we travel but we are still at the mercy of what is marked on the box. If it's a cloudy day a light tint appears to be a limo tint. Just is but it really is no big deal either way.
In order to be proven guilty the court still must show you are guilty, which means they have to test it. LOL. It's a silly charge to write an intelligent person with but then again, some people go way overboard so they have to write people.
