What is the standard format for business letters?

Depends on what type of business letter you are wanting to use. Microsoft word has many templates for business letters for you to chose from. You can preview the templates before you down load them. You can either go to Microsoft Office online or search for template through Microsoft Word.

Mc Knights is correct but I would also add that there are many standards by which certian letters are and should be formatted for business correspondance. I would suggest you get a secretarial handbook which shows examples and proper layouts for those formats as pertaining to their specific purpose.
Many of those proper template formats for business will not not be found in Word or Works programs, and will need to be created by you as your own template files within your word processing application. Most word processing aplications only provide the very basic formats and nothing specific as to proper document application.
