When you get accused of a crime, do you have the right to know who your accuser is?

Or do you believe the accuser should be anonymous. And you should never have the opportunity to face the accuser in court and then go to jail. I believe the right to face and know your accuser is written in the penumbra of the constitution.

if you are in the U.S. you have the right to face your accuser

Thanks! An anonymous teacher once accused me of doing drugs in school. The administrators and police officers never gave me the opportunity to face my accuser.

that is harsh

According to the Confrontation Clause of the Sixth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution,“n all criminal prosecutions the accused shall enjoy the right ... to be confronted with the witnesses against him.
That applies in most criminal cases however there is an exception to the face-to-face confrontation. In a sexual abuse case the testimony from a child victim may testify from a different room where everyone can see her but she can't see anyone in the courtroom. See Maryland V. Craig 497 U.S. 836 (1990) The Supreme Court split 5-4 The reason for the clause was to frighten the witnesses so as to deter them from lying.

If you reside in the US you have the right to know who your accuser is but not exactly to see them in person.
