how do you transfer documents from Word Perfect 12 to Office 2007

I want to know how to move my documents from Word Perfect 12 to Office for Student and Home 2007 . Newbie learning computers.

If you just want to move one or two files, simply rename the document with a .doc extension, instead of the .wpd extension that Word Perfect gives. (Click on File, click on Save as, rename the file with filename(whatever that is).doc, click on Save. When you go to Word to open the document, remember that you have to go to the wpdocs subdirectory to find it. It's not a good idea to change extensions. Better to just select All Files in the File Open dialog, so that it will show files with any extension.

In Word, just do File Open. Make sure it's set to show All Files. Then just open the WordPerfect file.
You may need to install the WordPerfect converter, which comes with Office, if it has not already been installed.

Convert to Word, then convert to 2007 using the compatibility pack on the Microsoft website.
