How do I help a young woman ignore/filter out all the negative messages in the media?

From magazines in supermarket checkout lanes, to TV, Internet, advertisements and commercials... our society is permeated with messages insisting we are not good enough. Cosmetics companies, weight loss products, even online dating services all insist we need to change superficially in order to be happy. How do I help a young woman ignore these lies and cherish herself in spite of all she hears to the contrary?

Give her time to read these things. Hopefully she'll come to the conclusion that she's better than all that. If nothing else get a little pi@@ed off that women are taken for granted in this way. She may be the one that changes how we are perceived???
