Why is it people think a business making $250k is a lot of money

When you consider that it takes 110k + to keep a business running in addition to personal income expenses there is not a lot of money for the small business to stay alive. Middle class America would suffer making way for the BIG business and little competion.

So very true Mele. That is why small business do not have a chance against big business!

Because they have no idea how much it costs to run and maintain a business much less make money off it. That is really a drop in the bucket to most businesses and not all that big a business either.

People don't consider that only $50-$100K Might actually be going into the business owner's pockets. I don't really think that's a lot.

If they manage $50-$100K out of $250 that is a pretty sweet profit margin 25%-40%. That is 4 to 10 times higher than the oil companies everyone is crying foul about.

Small business never knows what lies ahead. Anything they make needs to go into an emergency fund, just like a homeowner has to have a slush fund for unexpected, home repairs among other things.
