Try Nitrous Oxide and Rubber.

Its what Scaled Composites and Virgin Galactic are using for their Tier One project and it works beautifully.

It also has the upside of not being explosive and otherwise unstable as nitrates or liquid oxygen/liquid hydrogen or any of the vile concoctions that the Nazis came up with during the War.

Nobody wants to eat nitrous oxide and rubber.

Yeah, I've seen it myself but couldn't get over the fact that there was a lot of hard gamma radiation since they use one of the more unstable isotopes for it since the more unstable ones have the cooler looking ionization and oxidization effect.

I asked one of the technicians and they figured that the dose rate was something like 600 R/hr if you were in it or right by it, thats like 10 R/min and thats a huge dose rate, like around the same you'd expect about a week after fallout stops from a nuke explosion.
