Why hasn't the sound quality on cell phones improve? Shouldn't we had solved that problem way back?

Just last week I was talking to a friend on my cell phone when i just realized that no matter what kind of phone you get, sound reception sound still the same. Shouldn't it improved by now?

Not necessarily.
Reception depends on location & service provider.
And sound depends on the phone.
Like, for example, my phone has excellent sound quality, because it was built specifically for music (I have a ROKR...You know, the iTunes phone?)
So I'd suspect that a lot of the newer mp3 phones would have good (at least decent) sound quality.

I agree with you, the sound quality on cell phone hasn't been improved, and I think they should improve it by now!
