lol! thats a really good question. it would be easier. id be scared to drive in england. i dont think anyone cares about this. but they should!

Easier to remember which side of the road to drive on but harder to avoid crashes....

That would actually make it harder. Some of the cars in other countries have the steering wheels on the right instead of on the left. If they were to drive on the road like we do in the United States they wouldn't be able to see the traffic going the other direction as well as they do by driving on the other side of the road.

They made the cars like that to adapt to the roads.

You can go either way on a road. It works better to drive on a certain side in a car.

We used to drive from the left hand in our country, As I came US, whenever I came in the street for the first few months, I always hought that two vehicles from oppposit direction were going to collide. It took time for me to be used to it. Till now sometimes I catch the wrong lane when I drive unconciously.
Changing into one side will cost a lot I think as all the exit of roads has to be changed to other side not only the driver's location in the vehicle.

I feel for you. I couldn't imagine goign to anoter country and driving opposite of what I do now. I'd have to drive about 5mph just to not freak out. lol
