Aah, summertime...and it is waning so soon...Summertime was barefoot and free, roaming a 75 acre farm like wildness on the loose... putting in hay on sweaty hot days, the newly mown stubble not even hurting my feet--they were so tough. And then the ride down the lane on top of the load of hay, the cool evening air felt sooo good. Homemade rootbeer, Hire's extract and sugar and yeast, and then capped bottles...lying in the grass in the sun, "working" until the fizz was right. The Raleigh salesman coming with his overstuffed station wagon, the dust on the lane, our neighbor Donny, when he drove his 'new' convertible to our house (the first that I had ever seen)... building ponds on the small creek that flowed through our 'hollow', daisy chains... walking out to the mailbox (1/2 mile lane) at the end of the day, then walking home through the hay fields and getting soaked up to my waist from the dew covered timothy... getting baths in Galvenized tubs--using lye soap-- swear to God! lol... beenests and 'gumband' guns, sitting on the front porch watching a thunderstorm approach. And there we sat until the lightening strikes were so close that it scared us...then dad would say "Time to get inside!" and we would all run...The porch swing, tire swings and treehouses, fireflies in mason jars, weeding the garden...lol...Past loves? Hmm, you have to read the blog Tweets... I pasted a couple of links for June blogs...http://willowlive.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!68300986268C7B02!2058.entryhttp://willowlive.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!68300986268C7B02!2090.entry
